Ravi Basavappa, Ph.D.
 

Dr. Basavappa joined NIH in 2004 as a Program Director in the Division of Cell Biology and Biophysics at the National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS). Since 2010, he has been serving in the Office of Strategic Coordination, Division of Program Coordination, Planning, and Strategic Initiatives, which is in the Office of the Director, NIH. In addition to the Nanomedicine program, he is involved with “High Risk – High Reward” Common Fund programs, including the NIH Director’s Pioneer Awards, New Innovator Awards, Early Independence Awards and the Transformative R01s. Prior to joining NIH, Dr. Basavappa was Associate Professor of Biophysics and Biochemistry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine.
